Luigi Marcon, painter and etcher, was born in Tarzo (Treviso) in 1938. He lives and works in Vittorio Veneto, Italy.
He consolidated his artistic education in Venice where he attended the State Institute for the Arts and the International School for Graphics, under the direction of great artists such as Dalla, Zorza, Dinon, Licata and Simon. Since 1978 he has directed courses on etching techniques organised by the Cultural Centre of Pordenone, at the “Saletta della Grafica in Vittorio Veneto, Castelfranco Veneto, Bassano, Portogruaro and Oderzo.As far as his principal activity of etcher is concerned, he has engraved more than 4000 different subjects alfresco following calcographic techniques. He presses his etchings in person, generally in 20 copies, and he puts a stroke through the dyed plaque as soon as the edition is complete.
